For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Arts Projects (Research/ Practice) which will delve into the artistic research on the heritage of Malleswaram by creating a digital archive and interactive platform that blends historical research with community stories, fostering a deeper connection to the cultural, ecological, and architectural legacy of the neighbourhood. The outcomes of the project will be community-based art activities, a dynamic website and an embedded e-book. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the photographic and audio-visual documentation of the artistic process and community-based art activities, an offline version of the website and a soft copy of the e-book. Project funds will pay for Contract Fees, workshops, software subscriptions, website hosting, domain and email, purchase of equipment and materials.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Neighbourhood Engagements which will explore the evolution of Basavanagudi as a neighbourhood through the lens of past, present, and future, revealed through its stories, places, people, and culture. Through a series of in-depth interviews, oral histories, and community workshops, the project will gather and highlight local stories, cultural practices, and the contributions of everyday heroes. The outcome of this project will be three curated zines, a public exhibition, a digital archive, and meet-ups. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the three zines and audio-visual documentations from the exhibition and meet-ups. Project funds will pay for printing, hire of venue, materials, contract fees, publicity and marketing, and hire of equipment.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Arts Projects (Research/ Practice) which will research the native and exotic vegetation in parks of Bangalore, while exploring the dynamics of public access, by engaging citizens through art and surveys and promoting awareness of biodiversity conservation and inclusive natural spaces in the city. The outcomes of the project will be a community art project, a survey-based database of vegetation from select parks in Bangalore, in the form of a manuscript, a website, and an exhibition. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the manuscript, an offline version of the website, and audio-visual documentation of the exhibition. Project funds will pay for contract fees, materials, and travel and living.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Arts Projects (Research/ Practice) which will try to reclaim neglected urban spaces in Bangalore through community-driven art interventions, fostering safer, more accessible streets and enhancing social cohesion through creativity and participatory art practices. The outcomes of the project would be participatory art experiences, aggregation of urban local stories in the forms of poetry, drawings, installations, and audio walks, photographs, and video documentation that will culminate in an immersive exhibition. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be audio-visual documentation of the artistic process. Project Period: One year

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will facilitate research on the intellectual histories of Pune, focusing on the intersections of the visual arts traditions of Pune as well as the rich legacy of literature, cinema, theatre, musical practices and its histories of social reforms. By engaging with the collection at Zapurza Museum of Art and Culture (ZMAC) in Pune, Maharashtra, the research will explore the ways in which these objects or artifacts spoke to the historical moment in the urban and sub-urban narratives of Pune. The outcomes of this project will be the draft of research publication/s, a series of public lectures and programming and an extended curatorial catalogue created around the selected objects for online interface and social media. The Project Coordinator’s final deliverables to IFA along with the final reports will be the draft of research publication/s, the illustrated catalogue, the proceedings and audio-visual recordings of the public lecture and programming and the curatorial catalogue. This is a collaboration with the Zapurza Museum of Art and Culture in Pune, Maharashtra. Project funds will pay for contract fees, travel and living, production, exhibition, publication and archive and museum fees.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Arts Projects (Research/Practice) that will undertake a research into the labour organising efforts in the garment industry in Bangalore, including interviews with feminist activists, towards the making of a digital archive and an exhibition. The outcomes of the project would be an annotated archive of digitised materials, audio-visual materials, digital interface of the archive and an exhibition. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be selected materials from the archive, offline version of the digital interface, audio-visual documentation of the research process including selected interviews, and photographs of the exhibition display. Project funds will pay for contract fees, exhibition, hire of equipment, website, domain and hosting, and travel and living.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Arts Projects (Research/Practice) that will involve mapping Cubbon Park through recorded interviews, stored in an interactive sonic picnic blanket, that will be activated through sonic picnic events in the park. The outcomes of the project would be recorded interview audio clips, sonic picnic events, and the sonic picnic blanket. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the audio clips, photographs, and audio-visual documentation of the Sonic Picnic events. Project funds will pay for contract fees, materials, travel and living, printing, hire of equipment, website hosting, and publicity and marketing.

Project Period: Ten months

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Arts Projects (Research/Practice) that will involve the making of a podcast series with five episodes, as audio performances for walkers to experience the city of Bangalore. The series will be based on urban research and interviews woven together through sound engineering. The outcomes of the project would be a podcast series of five episodes of approximately 30 minutes each, two short performance walks with theatre actors and live musicians, and talks with city historians. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the podcasts along with audio-video documentation of the artistic process. Project funds will pay for contract fees, travel and living, software subscriptions, hire of venue and printing.

Maya Krishna Rao


Project Period: One year and six months

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Productions that will lead to the creation of a manuscript on the theatre-making processes of veteran theatre actor and director, Maya Krishna Rao. Structured as a book in three broad sections, this book will detail the essence, modalities, insights and reflections of Maya’s unique performance language. The outcome of the project will be the manuscript of the book. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA along with the final reports will be photographs and notes generated during this project as well as copies of the manuscript. Project funds will pay for contract fees, travel and living, documentation, transcription and printing.

Project Period: Eight months

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Explorations that will explore the idea for a play in Kannada, around language politics, through the form of absurd theatre engaging with different Kannada dialects. The outcome of the project will be a play of 60 to 70 minutes in duration. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be a video recording of the play, and audio-visual documentation of the artistic process. Project funds will pay for contract fees, hire of venue, food, and sets.
