For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Arts Projects (Research/ Practice) which will delve into the artistic research on the heritage of Malleswaram by creating a digital archive and interactive platform that blends historical research with community stories, fostering a deeper connection to the cultural, ecological, and architectural legacy of the neighbourhood. The outcomes of the project will be community-based art activities, a dynamic website and an embedded e-book. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the photographic and audio-visual documentation of the artistic process and community-based art activities, an offline version of the website and a soft copy of the e-book. Project funds will pay for Contract Fees, workshops, software subscriptions, website hosting, domain and email, purchase of equipment and materials.

Project Period: Five months

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Neighbourhood Engagements which will explore the evolution of Basavanagudi as a neighbourhood through the lens of past, present, and future, revealed through its stories, places, people, and culture. Through a series of in-depth interviews, oral histories, and community workshops, the project will gather and highlight local stories, cultural practices, and the contributions of everyday heroes. The outcome of this project will be three curated zines, a public exhibition, a digital archive, and meet-ups. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the three zines and audio-visual documentations from the exhibition and meet-ups. Project funds will pay for printing, hire of venue, materials, contract fees, publicity and marketing, and hire of equipment.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Arts Platforms which will create a year-long choreography lab, offline and online, to nurture the creative processes of emerging choreographers in India that will seek to bridge the gap between artistic training and independent research in contemporary dance. The outcomes of the project will be a year-long choreography lab, including intensive workshops followed by online sessions, digital notebooks/journals, and public dialogues. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA, along with the final report, will be audio-visual and photographic documentations of the workshops, public dialogues, and digital notebooks. Project funds will pay for contract fees and documentation.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Arts Projects (Research/ Practice) which will research the native and exotic vegetation in parks of Bangalore, while exploring the dynamics of public access, by engaging citizens through art and surveys and promoting awareness of biodiversity conservation and inclusive natural spaces in the city. The outcomes of the project will be a community art project, a survey-based database of vegetation from select parks in Bangalore, in the form of a manuscript, a website, and an exhibition. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the manuscript, an offline version of the website, and audio-visual documentation of the exhibition. Project funds will pay for contract fees, materials, and travel and living.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Explorations which will embark on a research journey to locations in order to write a narrative feature film script, on the intersecting lives of a few fictional characters, set in the world of sand mining, around the riverbanks in Bengal’s Rarh region. The outcome of the project will be a research travel and an experimental feature film script, sound recordings, photographs and a photo essay. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the audio-visual documentation of the artistic process, a draft of the film script, and photographs. Project funds will pay for travel and living, museum, library and Archive fees, subscription of software services, consumables, film stock and stationery.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Arts Projects (Research/ Practice) which will try to reclaim neglected urban spaces in Bangalore through community-driven art interventions, fostering safer, more accessible streets and enhancing social cohesion through creativity and participatory art practices. The outcomes of the project would be participatory art experiences, aggregation of urban local stories in the forms of poetry, drawings, installations, and audio walks, photographs, and video documentation that will culminate in an immersive exhibition. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be audio-visual documentation of the artistic process. Project funds will pay for contract fees, materials, documentation, exhibition, hire of equipment and hire of venue.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Explorations which will explore the making of a unique monthly comics journal of one-page graphic stories, in collaboration with young Assamese artists, fostering dialogue on important local issues, through thematic workshops over six months. The outcome of the project will be six workshops and six issues of a comics anthology of six comics each. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be photographic documentation of the artistic process and workshops, along with digital and physical copies of the comics anthology. Project funds will pay for contract fees, printing, production, documentation, and travel and living.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Explorations which will explore the dissonance between physical bodies and societal gender expectations through silent graphic narratives and a dynamic sculpture, drawing on queer and trans experiences to subvert conventional body representations. The outcome of the project will be in the form of an anthology of silent graphic narratives with around six stories, and a corresponding sculptural exploration of the narrative in physical form. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the graphic anthology, as well as photographic documentation of the sculptural exploration.  Project funds will pay for materials, publication and contract fees.

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Explorations which will be a satirical exploration of Bengali linguistics, through the writing of screenplays, where each episode will be centred on a grammarian that will feature debates in which the claims of Bengali purists would be systematically dismantled. The outcome of the project will be a fiction screenplay and a few articles based on the materials gathered during the research phase. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the fiction screenplay, the articles and documentation of the artistic process. Project funds will pay for contract fees, travel and living, purchase of books, and printing and publication.

Project Period: Eight months

For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA under Explorations which will experiment with puppetry to create animated sculptures, automata and kinetic pieces, to explore the concept of ‘looping’ through themes from a children’s story. The outcome of the project will be a variety of visual and textual materials, including notes, plans, zines, sketches, maquettes, shadow puppets, and a public sharing of the work towards the end of the project. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the photographic and audio-visual documentation of the artistic process and the outcomes. Project funds will pay for contract fees, materials, travel and living, communication, purchase of books, printing and production.
